My favourite pose. Pincha Mayurasana
The meaning of this asana is peacock feather pose. Before displaying the beautiful feathers, the peacock happens to lift its tail upright. This upright pose before dancing is known as Pincha Mayurasana. This represents the peacock in all its grandeur. The fierceness that is described in the peacock has to be imbibed in our day to day lives.

The first time I even attempt to try this pose during my TT, I was SO scared of my shoulders breaking into pieces right there and then. I could see it happen! so when my teachers introduced it in my first rocket class ever, I thought it was a joke! and I didnt think I could actually do it someday. After many tries, trying to ignore the fear on that mili-second before going up and completely trusting the wisdom of yoga, one day (and I remember it so clearly!) I finally found it. Once up there, with the breath as calm as if I was standing up, I discovered that for me the key to the inversions is not too much the strenght that sometimes we give a little bit too much credit to, but its more about finding that magical point of balance, where the breath, the body, the mind, sushumna, everything meets at exactly the right & perfect moment. Its comes totally unexpected… and then you feel it… and it feels amazing!
